AZ Welding Handyman builds security fences, modern horizontal-slat designs and cedar-and-steel combinations in metal, wood or composite, fabricated to match the wall and the yard you actually have.

A block wall is the Valley standard, and most of them get a builder-grade panel where a real fence should be. Manuel comes out, looks at the yard, and designs a fence that fits the opening and the style of the house instead of the nearest thing off a shelf.

Fence fabrication starts with the posts and the frame, not the panels — steel posts set and anchored to hold against wind and years of sun, spaced to match whatever's filling the run, whether that's cedar boards, horizontal metal slats or a composite panel. Get the frame wrong and the panels sag or rattle no matter how good they looked in the shop.

Cedar-and-steel combinations need the wood sealed and treated before it ever goes up, because untreated wood in direct Arizona sun cracks and grays out fast. Horizontal-slat designs need consistent spacing across the whole run — an off measurement at one end shows by the time you reach the other. Manuel checks both before calling a section finished.

Yes — matching a new fence section into a block wall is common work, and we look at the wall in person to plan the tie-in.

Does horizontal-slat fencing hold up as well as a traditional fence?

Yes, when the frame and spacing are done right — it's a design choice, not a weaker build, and Manuel fabricates the frame the same way either style.

Will wood in a cedar-and-steel fence hold up to the desert sun?

It will if it's sealed and treated properly before install, which is part of how we build every wood combination — untreated wood is what fails fast out here.
